When I first got my air fryer, I couldn’t wait to make some awesome dinner recipes without ever turning on the oven.
The whole pre-heating step with the oven is such a time suck, so the air fryer makes me happy because it doesn’t require so much time before I’m ready to get cooking.
But what I really love about it is that I can feel a little less guilty about the foods we are eating because of the reduced oil used in the cooking process, thanks to the air fryer.

This particular pork chop recipe is my favorite because I just love panko and all its crunchy goodness. There is just something about it that I can’t get enough of. So good!
Here are some commonly asked questions
Can I use regular bread crumbs instead of panko?
Yes, that would work just fine and you could even grab the seasoned variety if you like. Definitely still delicious, but maybe just a little less crunchy than if you use panko.
What is panko?
Panko is Japanese breadcrumbs. It has a light & flaky texture & is typically used as a coating for fried or baked food. Definitely gives a crunchier texture and is always my preference over breadcrumbs whenever a recipe calls for them.
What air fryer do you use?
We actually have 3 air fryers. I have a smaller one from Phillips that we started with. I have since given that to my son since he’s only cooking for 1.
But the more I used the air fryer I realized I really wanted a digital screen. It wasn’t any more expensive, in fact- our XL air fryer from GoWISE was less expensive than the Phillips and I love its ease & extra functions.
Plus it comes with a lot of the extra accessories I like to use when cooking with my fryer.
But I when I started working on my second air fryer book, I wanted to change things up. I picked up this Chefman 6.3 Quart Digital Air Fryer+ Rotisserie, Dehydrator, Convection Oven. It has 8 Touch Screen Presets (Fry, Roast, Dehydrate & Bake, BPA-Free, Auto Shutoff) & Accessories Included. It is XL Family Size, which is great!

The only thing I did differently was left off the chili powder, because I didn’t have any in my cabinet when I decided to try these; and I added extra Parmesan cheese. They were seriously the best pork chops I have ever eaten. They were so juicy and tender. I will be adding this recipe to my weekly dinner planner.
