- The fridge is normally how I store this strawberry syrup because it lasts a long time that way. However, you can pour it into a covered ice cube tray and freeze it for up to 3 months.
- Be sure to not include the stems with your strawberries. It can add a bitter taste that’s not tasty at all.
- Frozen strawberries, thawed, are fine to use, they just might not have as much flavor as fresh.
- Keep an eye on your simmering pot. Every stove is different, so watch to make sure you don’t burn your syrup. If 30 minutes is too long for your stove, that’s ok, just remove it early.
- Don’t press too hard on your strawberries when straining the syrup. This can cause bits of fruit and such to push through the strainer into the finished product. We don’t want that.
- Simple syrup is not supposed to be thick like pancake syrup. It will be thinner, which is perfect.
