Oh my goodness- it’s time for college basketball games! Are you basketball fans? We actually weren’t until we moved up here. This place is CRAZY in love with the local team & it’s all anyone ever talks about. So we have grown to really enjoy watching the games & seeing the team do well every year. We were already big sports fans & always made game day a big event. Adding basketball to the mix was just natural for us & a great excuse to continue making all our favorite appetizers year round. We really love game day because it turns into a family event where we can enjoy great food & be on the edge of our seats the whole time. It’s so much fun. One of the family’s favorite snacks these days is this cheesy corn dip that I make in my favorite little crockpot.
I found these Cheez-It Hot & Spicy Grooves and/or Srirarcha Snack Mix on special at Target this past week while I was there. I thought they would be insanely delicious if we dipped them in the cheesy corn dip. The family is nuts for spicy foods & so these definitely were a must buy! Large boxes of Cheez-It products are 3 for $8 the 3rd week of February – the 1st week of April.
As soon as we got home we started on getting the dip put together. It’s so simple I often let the kids get it going for me if I’m tied up. You literally just toss it all in the crock pot, cover & let cook for 2 hours. THAT IS IT! I will stir it about mid way through but that’s all that needs to be done before transferring to your serving bowl. That’s why I love it so much, it’s nearly effortless.
I have to tell you, these Cheez-It Hot & Spicy Grooves were the best choice to go with this dip! But we also love munching on these all by themselves.
We made sure to have plenty of snacks going on! I like to make sure I have the fridge stocked with water & the table full of all our favorite foods. Often times there is more than one game on at the same time. So my big tip for game day- if you have more than one TV in your house – have at least 2 games on at once. That way people can go back & forth & feel like they can see them both. This keeps everyone happy. I also like to use picture-in-picture. But some guests feel that it blocks the screen too much. So the second TV is another option.
Make sure you pick up plenty of snacks – especially this Cheez-It Srirarcha Snack Mix. My spicy loving family really loved this! With Cheez-It Baked Snacks, real cheese matters. Taste the difference real cheese makes!
