Ingredients

  • 1 ½ lbs chicken thighs (boneless, skinless) cut into pieces - or breasts
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 tbsp oil vegetable or canola

Sauce:

  • cup honey
  • ¼ cup butter - unsalted
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar or rice vinegar

Instructions

  • Season chicken with salt and pepper in a medium bowl. Add the cornstarch and toss to coat evenly.
  • Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the coated chicken in a single layer and cook for 4–5 minutes per side or until golden and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside on a plate lined with paper towels to absorb the excess oil.
  • Using the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, add the butter, and let it melt.
  • Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  • Add honey, soy sauce, and vinegar. Simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  • Add the chicken back to the pan and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 2 more minutes to glaze before serving.
