Ingredients
1cupwater
5oztomato paste
3tbspapple cider vinegar
⅓cuppowdered erythritol
1tbspWorcestershire sauce
2tspliquid smoke
1tspmustard powder
½tbspsmoked paprika
½tspgarlic powder
½tsponion powder
½tspcayenne pepper
½tspsalt
1tbspbutter
Instructions
Combine the water, tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, powdered erythritol, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, mustard powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt in a small saucepan.
Stir and bring it to a boil over medium heat, stirring continuously.
Reduce to low heat and simmer for 15 minutes until the water evaporates and the sauce thickens. This will bold in the flavors and reduce the tomato paste tartness. Once you have achieved the desired consistency, remove it from heat.
Taste and add extra salt or cayenne pepper, if desired.
Add 1 tbsp of butter, providing a glossy look to your sauce.
Notes
You can replace powdered erythritol with any powdered keto sweetener or a granulated sweetener that dissolves.
The powdered erythritol cancels out to zero - so net carbs for the entire 1-cup recipe should be 7. If you divide that into 1-ounce servings, then the net carbs for each would be less than 1 carb.
