Homemade Waffle Recipe

No need to dine out to enjoy warm Belgian waffles. This Homemade Waffle Recipe is so easy and delicious - make extra for a quick breakfast all week long.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 large eggs separated
  • cup oil canola or vegetable

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, add the flour, baking powder and salt, whisk to combine.
  • Separate the eggs whites and the yolks into 2 separate bowls.
  • Add the milk, egg yolks and the oil to the dry ingredients and whisk until smooth.
  • In the other bowl with the egg white, whisk the egg whites until very foamy.
  • Fold the egg whites into the waffle batter until incorporated, but don’t over beat.
  • Heat the waffle iron and spray with non-stick cooking spray or cooking oil.
  • Using a pourable measuring cup or ladle, fill the waffle iron with the batter.
  • Cook the waffles for 5-8 minutes each or until golden brown, depending on the waffle maker.
  • Remove from the waffle iron and serve immediately with syrup, confectioner's sugar or fresh fruit.
