Cake Batter Gelato is a delightfully creamy frozen treat with that great cake batter flavor your love. Perfect for birthdays, holidays or anytime you need a cool down.

Ingredients
1cupwhite cake mixjust the powder - not the other ingredients
¾cupgranulated sugar
1cupwhole milk
2eggs - slightly beaten
1½cupsheavy whipping cream
1tspcake batter flavoring
¼cupcolorful jimmies
Instructions
In a medium saucepan, combine the cake mix & sugar - stir.
Slowly add milk, whisking into a paste.
Add the eggs and whisk to combine.
Place over medium heat & stir until the mixture starts to steam, about 8-10 minutes, stirring constantly so it doesn't burn.
Once it starts to steam- remove from the heat and slowly add the heavy whipping cream.
Transfer to a freezer-safe container like a metal pan ( I like to use a bread loaf pan) or another plastic container and cover with foil. Cool in the refrigerator about 1 hour.
Once cool, stir in the cake batter flavor and most of the jimmies- cover & place in the freezer to firm. (overnight works best)
You can use an ice cream maker after it has chilled and churn for about 20 minutes. But this isn't necessary.
