- 29 Oreo cookies (reserve out 5 for decorating)
- 1/4 cup butter - melted
- 16 oz cream cheese - room temperature
- 6 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 ounces whipped topping or whipped cream – thawed
Crush the Oreos in a large zip-top bag or in the food processor.
Reserve out 1/3 of the crushed cookies for the top of the cheesecake later.
Mix in the melted butter until the mixture looks like wet sand.
Line a 9×9 pan with parchment paper.
Transfer 2/3 of the Oreo mixture into the parchment lined pan & press until you have a smooth, even layer.
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat cream cheese, granulated sugar & vanilla together until well blended.
Fold in whipped cream & a handful of the reserved cookie crumbs.
Spread out over the prepared crust & top with remaining cookie crumbs.
Chill in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours before cutting.
Once chilled, cut into squares & then top with 1/2 of one of the reserved Oreo cookies.
