Ingredients
½cupall-purpose flour
⅓cupbrown sugar
¼cupoats
¼cupgranulated sugar
4tbspbutter - chilled & cubed
1tbspcinnamon
¼tspsalt
6applesfuji preferable
Instructions
In a medium bowl combine the flour, brown sugar, oats, granulated sugar, butter, cinnamon, and salt.
Using a pastry cutter (or with your hands) work the butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture is crumbly, then set aside.
Wash the apples & cut off the tops.
Spoon out some of the core & the inner flesh to make a "bowl".
Fill each hollow apple with the crumble mixture & then place them inside the cooker insert.
Cover & cook for 2-2.5 hours - just enough that the apples soften but are not falling apart.
Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream on top (I like to add some caramel drizzle too)
Notes
This also works with peaches - sprinkle with a pinch of crushed graham cracker crumbs, cinnamon, butter, and brown sugar. Cook on low for the same amount of time. These (apples or peaches) can be made in the air fryer too! Just cook at 350 for 5 minutes. Then sprinkle on the toppings. Cook for another 5 minutes or until tender.
