Christmas Wreath Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup of unsalted butter
  • 32 large marshmallows
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon green food coloring
  • 4 cups whole wheat corn flakes
  • Brachs cinnamon hard candies to decorate

Instructions

  • To get started, heat large non-stick sauce pan to medium heat.
  • Add 1/3 cup of unsalted butter and 32 large marshmallows to pan and melt, stirring continuously.
  • Next add 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract, 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1 teaspoon of green food coloring {I try to get a dark rick forrest green color}
  • In small amounts, add in 4 cups of whole wheat corn flakes until all flakes are coated green with the marshmallow mixture.
  • Scoop 2-3 tablespoons of corn flake mixture in piles onto parchment parchment and form piles into wreaths by putting a hole in the middle of the pile and shaping into a circle. {this can be kinda of sticky, but if you dip your fingers into a bowl of water and then form the wreath it will be much less sticky}
  • Lastly, decorate each wreath with Brachs cinnamon hard candies. {little red circles}
  • Let sit for at least 10 minutes before devouring! :)
