Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast 1 packet
  • 1 ¼ cups milk warm - 95-115 degrees
  • ¼ cup butter melted - unsalted
  • 1 large egg

Garnish

  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Combine 2 cups of the flour, along with the sugar, salt, and yeast in a large bowl. Mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the warm milk, melted butter, and egg.
  • Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until a dough forms.
  • Gradually add the remaining flour, kneading the dough until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  • Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let the dough rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until it has doubled in size. If you live in a drafty house you can wrap the bowl with a heating pad to keep it warm.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll each portion into a rope.
  • Pinch a ball off the end of the rope which will be reserved for the tail.
  • Then twist the remaining rope to form a bunny shape with ears.
  • Place the shaped bunnies on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Dip each bunny tail in water and dip then dip them in the sesame seeds to create a fuzzy look. Place the sesame ball onto the twisted bunny bun.
  • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the buns are golden brown.
  • Allow to cool slightly before serving.
