Ingredients
1cupbutter + 2 tbsp - unsalted - softened
3tbspshortening
1½cupsbrown sugarpacked
¾cupgranulated sugar
1egg
3tspvanilla extract
3 ⅓cupsall-purpose flour
2 ¼tspbaking powder
1 ½tsptable salt
1 ½cupssemi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Combine the butter, shortening, brown sugar, and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl. Mix until fluffy.
Add the eggs and vanilla and beat again until combined.
Sift in the flour, baking powder, and salt to the wet ingredients. Use a rubber spatula to fold in the dry ingredients until everything is incorporated.
Fold in the chocolate chips.
Chill the dough in the fridge for 3 hours.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Use a tablespoon to scoop the dough, roll the dough between your hands, and then place them 2” apart on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 14-15 minutes or until the edges of the cookies have firmed and are golden brown.
Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Let the cookies cool completely before serving. They will become crispy as they cool just like the Famous Amos cookies.
