Ingredients

  • Broccoli florets
  • Crackers and/or breadsticks for the tree trunk
  • Assorted cured meats such as salami, prosciutto, and/or chorizo
  • Various cheeses like cheddar, brie, and gouda
  • Fresh fruits grapes, strawberries, and/or apple slices
  • Nuts almonds or cashews
  • Olives and/or pickles
  • Sliced red bell pepper
  • Sliced yellow bell pepper and a star shape cut from the bell pepper
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs for garnish
  • Fresh bay leaves for garnish
  • Curly parsley for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by selecting a large, flat serving platter or cutting board. Choose a board with a tree-like shape or simply arrange the ingredients in the form of a tree.
  • Begin with a line of broccoli to create a boundary for the bottom of the tree. Under the broccoli, add crackers or breadsticks as the trunk of the tree.
  • Arrange the ingredients in rows. Insert a row of garnish periodically to be a bed for smaller ingredients like olives and nuts.
  • Add the bell pepper strips like a garland over the broccoli and any areas that need extra color.
  • Serve the charcuterie board immediately.

Notes

Yield: Serves about 8-10 people as an appetizer or snack, depending on portion sizes and the variety and quantity of ingredients used. Adjust the quantities of ingredients based on the number of guests you plan to serve.
