- 1 ½ cups heavy whipping cream very cold
- ⅓ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 8 oz mascarpone cheese
- 1 ½ cups coffee freshly brewed - strong
- 2 tablespoons Kahlua coffee-flavored liqueur or dark rum, optional
- 7 oz Ladyfingers
Strawberries for serving, optional
Fresh mint for serving, optional
Add the whipping cream to the bowl of a stand mixer.
Beat the cream with the whip until soft peaks form.
Gradually add the sugar until stiff peaks form.
Beat in the vanilla extract.
Gently fold in the mascarpone cheese.
In a shallow dish or bowl, add the coffee and liqueur.
Quickly dip each of the ladyfingers into the coffee mixture.
Lay them in a single layer into the square pan, you may need to cut them to fit.
Evenly spread half of the cream mixture over the top of the ladyfingers.
Add another layer of dipped ladyfingers.
Finish with the remaining cream mixture.
Place the pan in the refrigerator to chill for at least 3 hours or overnight before serving.
Dust with a generous layer of cocoa powder on top before serving.
