Ingredients

Turkey Body:

  • 1 large ripe pear
  • 2 small mozzarella balls for the eyes
  • 2 small black olives for the pupils
  • 1 small carrot for the beak
  • 1 slice red bell pepper for the wattle

Charcuterie Board:

  • 8-10 slices roasted turkey breast
  • 8-10 slices honey-glazed ham
  • 1 cup assorted cheeses such as cheddar, brie, and blue cheese
  • ½ cup mixed nuts almonds, cashews, or walnuts
  • ½ cup dried fruits apricots, cranberries, or figs
  • ½ cup fresh grapes or berries
  • ¼ cup assorted olives green, Kalamata, or stuffed
  • ¼ cup whole grain mustard or honey mustard for dipping
  • ¼ cup crackers or baguette slices

Instructions

  • Start by assembling the pear turkey body. Place the pear at the center of a large serving platter or board, with the narrow end facing forward.
  • Insert two small mozzarella balls into the narrow end of the pear to create the eyes. Place two small black olive slices on top of the mozzarella balls for the pupils.
  • Use a small triangle-shaped piece of carrot as the beak, positioning it just below the eyes.
  • Add a small slice of red bell pepper just below the beak as the wattle.
  • Surround the pear turkey with slices of roasted turkey breast and honey-glazed ham, arranging them in a fan-like pattern to resemble turkey feathers.
  • Fill the rest of the charcuterie board with an assortment of cheeses, mixed nuts, dried fruits, fresh grapes or berries, assorted olives, and crackers or baguette slices, arranging them artistically around the pear turkey.
  • Place a small bowl of whole-grain mustard or honey mustard near the board for dipping.
