- 5 pounds rump roast cut into chunks
- 1 pkt onion soup mix
- 1 pkt au jus mix
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon dried thyme
- salt and black pepper to taste
- 2 cups water
- 10 oz beef consomme 1 can
- 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
10 sub rolls, for serving
sliced provolone cheese, for serving if desired
Place the roast into the slow cooker.
Top with the onion soup mix, beef gravy mix, garlic powder, oregano, thyme, salt, and pepper.
Then pour in the water, beef consomme, red wine vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8 hours or until the meat is tender and can be shredded with two forks.
Serve on rolls with or without cheese.
Serve the sandwiches with au jus for dipping.
