Ingredients

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • cup yellow cake mix dry
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ½ cup sprinkles colorful, divided
  • 2 vanilla cupcakes with frosting

Instructions

  • Whisk together the sugar and yellow cake mix.
  • Add the cream, milk, and vanilla extract, beating until combined.
  • Pour the liquid into the ice cream maker and freeze according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  • Just before the ice cream is completely set, add ¼ cup of sprinkles.
  • Meanwhile, crumble the two cupcakes with the frosting.
  • Transfer half of the ice cream to a freezer-safe container.
  • Add half of the crumbled cupcake and half of the remaining sprinkles.
  • Top with the remaining ice cream and add the rest of the cupcake crumbles and sprinkles..
  • Cover the container and freeze for 4 to 6 hours.

Notes

Make 1 quart liquid and about 1 ½ quart frozen.
In the Cuisinart Ice Cream 2-quart machine, this takes approximately 30 minutes to freeze into soft serve.
