- 5 pounds pork shoulder roast - bone-in
- 1 cup apple cider vinegar
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 ½ tablespoons hot sauce
- 3 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 24 Hawaiian rolls sliced in half through the height to make slider buns
- 2 cups barbecue sauce Your favorite brand - optional
Cut the pork into large pieces for faster cooking.
Prepare the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray.
Place the pork into the slow cooker.
Add the apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, hot sauce, salt, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.
Cover and cook on low for 12 hours or high for 6 hours.
Shred the meat with two forks, discarding the excess fat and bone.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Place the bottom of the rolls into a 9x13 dish.
Add a thick layer of pulled pork. If desired, add a layer of barbecue sauce. Place the top of the buns over the sauce.
Tent the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 to 30 minutes
Cut apart and serve immediately.
