1qtstrawberrieschopped
4tbspgranulated sugarthis can be reduced if you want it less sweet
1canrefrigerated biscuits8 count
whipped topping - optional garnish
Instructions
First, we want to macerate the strawberries by combining them with the sugar in a small bowl. Just toss them with the sugar in the bowl and let them sit while you make the biscuits. The sugar will break them down and they will become soft.
Place biscuits in the air fryer basket. Make sure they are not touching. I am able to make four at a time.
Cook at 330ºF for 6 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and allow them to cool before proceeding.
Whisk the strawberries with a fork and mash any remaining large lumps in the mixture.
When biscuits are cooled, cut them in half like you would a hamburger bun.
On the bottom layer, put whipped topping followed by a layer of strawberry sauce.
Place the top of the biscuit on, followed by more strawberry sauce and whipped topping.
Notes
Notes - You can either grease the air fryer basket prior to adding the dough, or you can line it with the perforated parchment made for air fryers. The parchment is my preference as the non-stick spray leaves a coating that is not removable over time.
For the prettiest presentation, you want to follow the steps laid out here for assembling the dessert. But if you want to just toss it all together in a bowl - that works too.
