Ingredients

  • 15.25 oz chocolate cake mix dry - not prepared (1 box)
  • 3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding - dry mix, not prepared (1 box)
  • 12 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips divided (1 bag)
  • 1 ½ cups milk

            Instructions

            • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
            • Coat a 9x13 baking dish with cooking spray or baker’s release.
            • Sprinkle the dry cake mix evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
            • Evenly distribute the pudding mix on top of the cake mix.
            • Add the chocolate chips - reserving a ½ cup of them for later.
            • Pour the milk over the top of the dry mix.
            • Stir gently until well combined. **see notes
            • Sprinkle the top with the remaining ½ cup of the chocolate chips.
            • Bake for 35-40 minutes or until the top is set and the edges pull away from the baking pan.
            • Remove from oven and place it on wire rack.
            • Allow to cool slightly to serve warm with ice cream, or you can cool it completely before serving and add other toppings such as frosting or whipped cream.
            • Store any leftovers covered with plastic wrap in the pan or in individual airtight containers.

            Notes

            You can also mix everything in a bowl and then add it to the prepared baking dish.
