Ingredients

  • 6 chicken breasts boneless, skinless
  • 1 tablespoon minced onion dried
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon table salt OR to taste
  • 1 ½ cups Coca-Cola soda
  • 1 ½ cups barbecue sauce divided

Instructions

  • Prepare a slow cooker crock with nonstick cooking spray.
  • Place the chicken breasts into the bottom of the slow cooker crock.
  • Sprinkle the chicken with the minced onions, garlic powder, black pepper, and salt.
  • Pour the soda around the chicken.
  • Spread 1 cup of barbecue sauce over the chicken.
  • Cover the slow cooker and cook on low 6 to 7 hours.
  • Drain the slow cooker and brush the chicken with the remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Or, shred the chicken and stir in the remaining barbecue sauce.
  • Serve the chicken whole or shredded on hamburger buns.
