Slow Cooker Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil divided
  • 1 small onion chopped- about ½ cup
  • 6 pork chops bone in or boneless (2 pounds)
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • 10.5 oz cream of mushroom soup 1 can
  • 10.5 oz cream of celery soup 1 can

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of the olive oil in large skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Add the onions and cook until they are soft and translucent, about 3 minutes.
  • Add the remaining olive oil.
  • Lay the pork chops in a single layer in the pan, seasoning with salt, pepper and the garlic powder.
  • Brown the pork chops on both sides, about 3 minutes on each side.
  • Repeat with remaining pork chops if necessary.
  • Remove the pork chops from the pan and place them into the insert of the slow cooker.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together two cans of soup.
  • Pour that mixture over the pork chops.
  • Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve immediately with mashed potatoes or rice.
