Ingredients

  • cups granulated sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter - room-temperature
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp cream of tartar
  • ½ tsp table salt
  • ¾ cup M&M's - spring colors + more for the tops of the cookies
  • ½ cup white chocolate chips + more for the tops of the cookies

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • Line several baking sheets with parchment paper. Set aside.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the sugar with the butter. Beat on medium speed until light and fluffy.
  • Mix in the eggs and vanilla, just until combined.
  • Slowly stir in the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Once the dry ingredients are mostly mixed in, increase the speed for about 15 seconds to really beat it together.
  • Reduce the speed and fold in the M&M's and white chocolate chips.
  • Roll the dough into golf ball-sized balls. Place approx 2" apart on the prepared baking sheets.
  • Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  • Immediately add more M&M's and chocolate chips to the tops of the cookies while they are still hot.
  • Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for several minutes before transferring to a wire rack. They will look slightly under-cooked when you remove them from the oven.
  • Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature.
