Not sure what you mean by mix two different. This recipe is for using EITHER puff pastry or the crescent dough. I personally made them – both versions – starting with the puff pastry as directed – still have the original photos of them on my hard drive. I wasn’t as happy with those as I was with the crescent dough – and that is mentioned in the post. But people can use what they prefer. But they both work as written.

When you mix two different u get a gooey, doughy MESS. If you’re using puff pastry, no additional butter is needed. I thought maybe this person knew something I didn’t and followed her instructions. Obviously she never actually made these. Great pictures.

It is possible that you didn’t roll it or stretch it thin enough before so that they layers would bake through. I have never had that issue before.

I used puff pastry but it didn’t rise and was dough-ie in the centre and bottom. What did it do wrong?

Made these for Christmas brunch following the puff pastry recipe and they turned out perfectly. They were a big hit with the family. Absolutely delicious!
