Have never had a fail with this recipe! Can’t find the Mr. Yoshida marinade, but it is delicious with about any teriyaki marinade.
I won a ribs cook-off with these! Highly recommend!

I added crushed dried strawberries to purée to intensify flavor.
I decreased the icing sugar to about 4 cups and the butter to 2 cups. This provided enough icing to fully ice my cake.
I used 9 inch round pans. The baked cakes were level with the tops of the pans.

The cake was beautiful and delicious. It stayed moist for several days under a cake dome on the kitchen counter.

Loved it! These were delicious! It was more of a texas roadhouse roll than a donut though but it was soooo good. The only thing was they needed salt, which wasn’t in the recipe but they were still amazing

The size was perfect- not too much but it made several servings. I used 1:1 gf flour, applesauce instead of egg, reduced oil to 1 tablespoon, reduced brown sugar to 4 tablespoons, only used a few chocolate chips on the top. Perfect amount of sweetness and very rich. Will definitely make this again.
