Ha- great minds, they say!! Our house is by Viking Construction. I love the layout – it works for us. However I do wish the fridge was in a different spot as the door hits the wall. It’s armoire style & so not being able to open fully is an issue. Maybe something to think about when we remodel someday. (I dream of pushing out the wall & having a double island) Yes the mixer is red. If you look on top of the cabinet above the range you will see our chili pepper neon light. It’s the last of our themed chili pepper kitchen that we started with our first house together. The red mixer was a must for that. Now we really don’t have red in the kitchen. I will be bringing my mom’s 30 year old KitchenAid in white home someday to sit next to this one. So I am debating which color to get next. I really love my favorite- mint. But given that tastes change quicker than the mixer wears out- I might not want to commit to a color this time. 🙂 I love that we have things set up so similar. Makes me feel like I’m cooking with you. Now I will have you on my mind every time I’m in there – which makes me smile. Hugs my friend!

Okay, first of all, our kitchens have a pretty much the exact same layout (seriously, the sink, dishwasher, oven, island, kitchen table are all in the exact same place), and we have those can lights, and you’ve inspired me to do something with them! Second of all, not only do our kitchens have the same layout, we put our knives and our KitchenAids in the exact same place. And I can’t tell for sure, but is yours red? Because mine is too. Clearly we both have fabulous taste! 🙂 I am seriously wondering who built your house?
